Social implications and values on product design

Hi, everyone!
Yesterday I was awarded a prize on a design contest here in Italy.
For all who supported this victory, my gratitude!!!

Dotty was a proposition for the design contest ‘Say it with Glass’ by Verallia[part of Saint-Gobain group]… looking for product innovation.

Leveraging on existing production processes, Dotty has two grids [one on each side] of small dots [some engraved, some embossed].
Its concept is to communicate through sight and touch.

On one side, icons.
On the other, braille language
[telling what is inside, like honey, cherry jam and chocolate]

It cares about blind people and stands for the value that we all need to take care of each other.

Check some photos and, if you like it, share it!

Design as martial art

As a practitioner of both, martial arts and design, I perceived throughout the years how my practice in one has positively influenced my practice of the other and I hope to give you some insights derived from this congruence.
